Trianda Holiday Guide

The small village of Trianda or Trianta sits just west of Rhodes town and is very close to Rhodes international airport, making it ideal for holidaymaker's who want to step of the plane and be in resort within 5-10 minutes.  Its a charming and traditional Greek village with a scattering of small hotels and restaurants.

The area is famed for its wind and kite surfing due to the winds which push through the west coast of Rhodes and you can enjoy plenty of watersports on the main Trianda beaches.  The beaches of Trianda seem to see most of the action and a large community has been built up over the years around the beach and windsurfing here.

Below you will find a brief travel guide to the resort of Trianda including a video and some pictures, as always you can comment on the resort by sending us your feedback which will be published on the main pages.

Trianda Daytime and Sightseeing

The village of Trianda is situated at the foot of a pine tree covered hill, and the scent of pine is noticeable when you enter into the resort, it makes for a very relaxed and calming holiday experience.  The village itself is surrounded by charming olive and citrus groves which the locals rely on just as much as the small amount of tourism that the village attracts.

The village of Trianda is a haven for wind surfers and kite surfers due to the high winds that this area of Rhodes gets on a daily basis, the beaches here are setup for some fantastic watersports and families with teenagers will find this the ideal holiday location.  The beaches of Trianda are mainly pebble and shingle so its recommended that you take a good pair of flip flops or sandals as not to harm your feet.

The beach area is good for snorkelling also, but just be aware of all the wind surfers that congregate here.

If its sightseeing you want, venture into Trianda old town where you will find some stunning examples of Byzantine architecture and a Byzantine Monastery, remember to cover your shoulders and legs if your a women before entering the monastery.

If your looking for a great shopping experience, you will find a few souvenir shops within the village itself but Rhodes town is only a short bus or taxi ride away, you could even
hire a car to explore at your leisure.  Rhodes Town has the best shops and sights on the island and is well worth a visit if your looking to pick up some great souvenirs for the family back home.

Trianda Nightlife

There are a handful of small Greek Taverna's and restaurants in the village of Trianda, all serving up the mouth watering Greek dishes like Stifado and Lamb Kleftiko, plus the freshly grilled fish is a treat you must try when visiting this part of Rhodes.  Prices are very reasonable and cheaper than what you will find in Rhodes town or some of the other built up resorts in the area.  For some great food try
La Cucina restaurant for a more Italian feel, which is great if you've brought the kids as they do an amazing range of pizza and pasta.

If its hectic nightlife your looking for the town of Faliraki is not far away and you can also experience the upmarket nightlife of Rhodes Town with its many Greek music bars, stunningly laid out clubs or little Greek bars.  Trianda itself has a few cocktail bars where you can sit and watch the sunset over the Aegean sea.  The bar owners here are friendly and welcoming as any Greek on the island and the drinks are moderately priced.

To the right you will see a tourist submitted holiday video, and after about 2 minutes you will see the resort of Trianda on video.  If you have a better video please feel free to get in contact with us.
