Kiotari Holiday Guide

Kiotari in Rhodes Kiotari is a favourite holiday destination for families and couples looking for a peaceful and relaxing beach holiday. The resort is made up of mainly hotels and a large shopping centre where you will find all you need to enjoy your holiday.

The resort is one of the furthest away from Rhodes International airport, travelling past Pefkos and Lindos you will happen on this small village. The village itself doesn't really exist and serves just to be a holiday resort so you wont find the charm and tradition of other small villages around Rhodes here.

You don’t have to go far to find a slice of the real Rhodes, but most people are happy to enjoy the long sandy beaches of Kiotari and the entertainment and food on offer in the all inclusive hotels that are dotted around the sea front.

Kiotari Daytime

The first place most people tend to visit when staying tin the resort of Kiotari is its wonderful sandy beach, which gently shelves into the clear blue Aegean Sea. It can be reached by following a small gravel and shingle path across a small bridge then onto the beach, surrounded by palm trees it’s a very attractive beach with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. If you want drinks and food you can quickly head back up to the nearest hotel pool bar and quench your thirst there.

For places to eat most people choose to stay within their hotels, but if you venture out a little further into the resort you will find a handful of small Taverna's and restaurants in the area with food reasonably priced.

If you want to explore further afield there are many sights to see in the area and by far the best way to do this is too catch the local bus or even hire out your own car. Exploring along the coastline of Rhodes you will find small secluded beaches and coves and these areas are perfect for a spot of fishing or snorkelling.

Kiotari Nightlife

The nightlife in Kiotari is mainly again based around the hotels, with specialist animation teams and live Greek music on a nightly basis you don’t need to go anywhere else, although there are a few small local bars which you can sit and relax in.

If your looking for more nightlife than the hotel can provide a trip to Lindos via local taxi is well worth it, the resort is lively but not too hectic and many people enjoy the modern nightlife in the many bars and clubs in Lindos.

Shopping in Kiotari

There is a large shopping centre and local market in the village of Kiotari and you can pick up some excellent clothing bargains, local produce from honey to olive oil and its various forms, like olive oil soap and tanning oil plus much more.

There are a few supermarkets here which again sell the normal everyday items, but also locally produced goods and souvenirs. If you want more choice in shopping the head towards Rhodes Town, you will find it brimming with designer fashion stores, local markets and cafes to sit and rest your feet. It takes time to travel by bus to Rhodes town so your best bet is definitely car hire - just remember they drive on the opposite side of the road in Greece.
